DENVER
TOMCATS
|
|
drafted
|
Mikel
Leshoure (rb); Torrey Smith (wr); Titus Young (wr);
Alex Green (rb); Shonn Greene (rb); Colin Kaepernick
(qb) |
summary
|
The
Tomcats continue to be one of the leagues best drafting
teams. They did not have a 1st Rd pick and wisely
acquired DeSean Jackson for a 1st Rd pick in 2012.
LeShoure and Green are both excellent value picks
as well as smart handcuffs for the roster. Titus Young
may prove to be the steal of the draft at #24 overall
or if not perhaps Shonn Greene could be at #34. Colin
Kaepernick is an excellent acquisition at #44. They
also acquired Plaxico Burress for some instant production
at WR. The Tomcats probably improved the most with
this draft. |

MYRTLE
BEACH 328'S
|
|
drafted
|
Jonathan
Badlwin (wr); Cam Netwon (qb); Leonard Hankerson (wr);
Andy Dalton (qb); Taiwan Jones (rb) |
summary
|
328's
needed to address the WR positioned they did so with
Baldwin nice picks of Baldwin and Hankerson at #5
and #17. Cam Newton and Andy Dalton have such potential
they make for great value picks and they took a nice
boom-or-bust player (Taiwan Jones in the 5th Round). |

UNITED
|
|
drafted
|
Greg
Little (wr); Alex Henry (k); Anthony Gonzalez (wr);
Jaymar Joihnson (wr); John Beck (qb) |
summary
|
After
the 1st Rd (an excellent pick of potential instant
starter Greg Little) United had to get creative and
they did a really nice job. Trading away #20 overall
for a 2012 2nd Rd Pick is a smart value move. Alex
Henry could be the teams every-week starting K. Anthony
Gonzalez and Jaymar Johnson are cheap project type
players with high potential (as well as filling a
need for this team). John Beck is worth a shot with
the Mexican Seafood pick. United's salary is now exactly
52.00 (the league limit). |

A II P

drafted
|
Julio
Jones (wr); AJ Green (wr); Jacquizz Rodgers (rb);
Shane Vereen (rb); Stevan Ridley (rb); Dezmon Briscoe
(wr); Falcons (d/st); Jordan Todman (rb) |
summary
|
A
II P was setup to have a great draft with three picks
in the top five. Obviously the top two picks (Jones
and Green) are smart but they defeintly over-drafted
with rookie RBs Rodgers (#5), Vereen (#13) and Ridley
(#23). The teams need for RBs is understandable but
passing on Mikel LeShore, Kendal Hunter or DeMarco
Murray for Vereen in the 2nd Rd may prove to be a
mistake in an otherwise solid draft for the team. |

OUTER
BANKS LIGHTNING
|
|
drafted
|
Christian
Ponder (qb); Kendall Hunter (rb); Vincent Brown (wr) |
summary
|
Lightning
has had some great success with 1st Rd QB's so Ponder
could prove to be another gem at #10 overall (a pick
they traded former 1st Rd Pick qb Josh Freeman to
acquire). Kendall Hunter was a very fine value selection
at #18 and Vincent Brown has a boom-or-bust potential.
They also acquire Brandon Lloyd for a 1st Rd Pick
in 2012, a trade that is risky for both sides but
could prove very worthy for Lightning if Lloyd can
duplicate his 2010 season performance. |

O'S
|
|
drafted
|
Blaine
Gabbert (qb); DeMarco Murray (rb) |
summary
|
With a solid overall roster, the O's remain content
on drafting best available players. They were the
first to take a qb with Blaine Gabbert at #6 and as
the 7th RB taken in the draft, DeMarco Murray could
prove to be a nice value pick at #16. |

TOLEDO
TORMENTA
|
|
drafted
|
Mark
Ingram (rb); Ryan Williams (rb); Daniel Thomas (rb);
Ryan Mallett (qb); Randall Cobb (wr); Kyle Rudoph
(te); Austin Pettis (wr) |
summary
|
Despite
some questions at WR depth, Tormenta surprisingly
used all three 1st Round Picks on RBs (Mark Ingram,
Ryan Williams, Daniel Thomas). The WRs they did take
are both long-term projects, as is the somewhat premature
pick of Ryan Mallett - a very talented QB but one
that may not see the field for a longtime. Tormenta
has proven patience with past draft picks (notably
Aaron Rodgers and Kevin Kolb) so this could prove
to be an outstanding draft year for them. I'm torn
between calling this an excellent or just good draft
but time will tell. |

D.C.
H
|
|
drafted
|
Jordan
Cameron (te); Roy Williams (wr); Mike Kafka (qb) |
summary
|
Considering
they entered the draft with little, H made some waves
acquiring two picks via trade in addition to their
4th Rd pick. They essentially swapped veterans WR
Plaxico Burress for Roy Williams who they took at
#18. They trade up to #20 of a 2nd Round Pick in 2012
to acquire te Jordan Cameron seemed a bit of a stretch,
but H has a great history of drafting quality TEs. |

LAS
VEGAS 69ERS
|
|
drafted
|
Lance
Kendericks (te) |
summary
|
It
is tough to rate this years draft for the 69ers because
so much relies on 2012, a year in which they've built
three 1st Rd Picks while losing DeSean Jackson and
Brandon Lloyd. They have the depth to trade away WRs
but the mistake may be in trading an extra roster
spot leaving this team even slimmer at every position.

LOS
ANGELES LAKE SHOW
|
|
drafted
|
Jake
Locker (qb) |
summary
|
Perhaps
a value pick, Lake Show surprisingly drafted Jake
Locker with their only pick at #21. Locker is the
7th QB on the roster which includes a mix of veteran
and young prospects. The trade for te Tony Moeaki
was a good one but Lake Show still has some questions
at the WR position. |
