LAS
VEGAS 69ERS
|
|
drafted
|
Eddie
Lacy (rb); Tyler Eifert (te); Jonathan Franklin (rb);
Christine Michael (rb); Marcus Lattimore (rb); Stephen
Williams (wr); Gavin Escobar (te); Ladarius Green
(te); Chris Ivory (rb) |
summary
|
The
69ers have done alot with their team the past two
draft seasons and it will be interesting to see how
this team develops over this and next season. In addition
to making nine picks (all of which were smart and
need friendly), the 69ers acquired Dwayne Bowe in
a predraft trade. Most importantly the 69ers addressed
their areas of need this offseason - adding players
and building depth at the rb and te positions. |

TOMCATS
|
|
drafted
|
LeVeon
Bell (rb); Robert Woods (wr); Zach Sudfeld (te); Terrance
Williams (wr) |
summary
|
The
Tomcats continue to draft well and this year they
had some better selections to help build immediately.
With no clear-cut #1 player in this draft, Le'Veon
Bell was the right choice for this team as he probably
immediately. becomes the teams top RB. Zach Sudfeld
could be a sleeper this year and Robert Woods and
Terrance Williams were decent value picks. The Tomcats
still need some improvements (especially at the RB
position) but they continue to make wise decisions
on draft day. |

MACUNGIE
O'S
|
|
drafted
|
DeAndre
Hopkins (wr); Julius Thomas (te); Phil Dawson (k) |
summary
|
DeAndre Hopkins could turn out to be the best WR in
this draft and the O's made an excellent value trade
with A II P for kicker Randy Bullock (who they originally
acquired at #23 before trading him for #39 and a conditional
draft pick that could turn into a 2nd Rd in 2014). |

TOLEDO
TORMENTA
|
|
drafted
|
EJ
Manuel (qb); Matt Barkley (qb) |
summary
|
The
trade of Dwayne Bowe was risky for a team unsure of
what they wanted to draft but the defending champions
should excellent patience in making a draft day deal
to gain a pick in 2014 (along with the #9 selection
of EJ Manuel). The Matt Barkley selection was a bit
unneeded but this team has few weaknesses and the
owner has a history of being very patient with the
young QBs they draft. |

H
|

drafted
|
Tavon
Austin (wr); Markus Wheaton (wr); Kirk Cousins (qb);
Keenan Allen (wr) |
summary
|
H
acquired two very talented WRs that could produce
right away with Tavon Austin and Markus Wheaton (as
well as late rounder Keenan Allen). The Kirk Cousins
pick was a bit of a surprise, but H has a history
of turning QB (both rookie and especially non-rookie)
selections into value. |

UNITED
|
|
drafted
|
Codarrelle
Patterson (wr); Justin Hunter (wr); Seahawks (d/st);
Travis Kelce (te) |
summary
|
Having
a rb/qb strong team may have forced United to look
elsewhere but they've added two rookie WRs to a roster
full of young developing WRs. If a few from this groups
could emerge as regular starters, United could be
building a powerhouse roster. The addition of the
Seahawks could also prove valuable this season. |

LOS
ANGELES LAKE SHOW
|
|
drafted
|
Montee
Ball (rb); Zach Stacy (rb); Quinton Patton (wr) |
summary
|
After
their first round pick (which they used with a solid
pick of Montee Ball), Lake Show grabbed a couple of
nice sleepers in the late round - most notably Quinton
Patton with the #58 pick. They'll need a big year
this season because they are currently without a 1st
and 2nd Rd selection in 2014. |

OUTER
BANKS LIGHTNING
|
|
drafted
|
Giovani
Bernard (rb); Stedman Bailey (wr); Vance McDonald
(te) |
summary
|
Lightning
made a risky but bold trade to acquire their targeted
player, giving up #9 and a 1st Rd pick next year for
rb Giovani Bernard at #3. That trade will put pressure
on Bernard to produce quickly but he does have the
opportunity and the talent to do so. The team also
wisely addressed their backup tight end situation
with a nice pick of Vance McDonald. |

MYRTLE
BEACH 328'S

|
drafted
|
Aaron
Dobson (wr); Stepfan Taylor (rb); Mike Gillislee (rb);
Zach Ertz (te) |
summary
|
328's
might have taken Aaron Dobson and Stepfan Taylor a
bit earlier then they were projected, but they got
excellent value with Zach Ertz at #21 overall. He
could be the teams starting te by midseason. |

A II P
|
|
drafted
|
Kenbrell
Thompkins (wr); Geno Smith (qb); Andre Ellington (rb);
Randy Bullock (k) |
summary
|
The
teams first pick of Kenbrell Thompkins at #18 could
prove to be solid but otherwise they seemed a bit
lost and disorganized. Salary issues forced them to
scramble on draft day as they made a highly unfavorable
trade with the O's just to stay under the cap and
maintain a legal roster. |
